REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of State (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi explained that the Indonesian government is deeply saddened by the death of Pope Francis (88 years old). On the eve of the funeral at the Vatican, Prasetya said, President Prabowo Subianto sent an official delegation from the Republic of Indonesia to attend the crucial moment.
“First of all, of course, the Indonesian poet once again expressed his deep sorrow for the death of Pope Francis. Then we were informed that the funeral would be held on April 26. Therefore, on behalf of the Indonesian government, President Prabowo Subianto decided to send some figures to attend the funeral in the Vatican,” Prasetya said in Central Jakarta, Wednesday (23/4/2025).
According to Prasetyo, Prabowo asked four Indonesian figures to attend the funeral. They comprised four figures, including ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.
“Among the figures sent by Mr President Prabowo to represent the nation and country of Indonesia are first the 7th President Mr Joko Widodo, then the second Deputy Finance Minister Mr Tommy Djiwandono, then the third Mr (Iqnatius) Jonan and the fourth Mr Natalius Pigai,” Prasetyo said.
