REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of the Organizing Agency for Halal Products Guarantee (BPJPH) Haikal Hassan said halal products should be the driving wheels of the regional economy. Local authorities are urged to keep an eye on the circulation of products.
“We come here to encourage local governments and entrepreneurs to participate in the elimination of circulating products,” he said while in Sukabumi, Jabar, Thursday (23/1/2025).
According to Haikal, the local government in particular the Sukabumi Kabupaten should have been more concerned and supervising the circulation of existing products, because the presence of orderly halal products will increase productivity, so the area is boosted.
Halal products turned out to be more easily accepted by foreign countries, so the potential for export of these halal products should be exploited. Because, the more goods are exported, the economy is boosted.
In addition, if halal products are more orderly, it will open up job opportunities because BPJPH is currently opening halal product escort vacancies because it needs about 2 million people to be escorts.
“Each escort has the duty to help the process of creating halal permits and for his salary of Rp 150 thousand per day to accompany one citizen or entrepreneur if there are two, three or more then the salary earned is much greater,” he added.
