REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Spokesperson of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) of RI Adita Irawati mentioned that not every menu in the free nutritious meal program (MBG) is accompanied by milk. According to him, the content of proteins and vitamins in milk can still be replaced by other foodstuffs.
Adita said it provided MBG referred adequacy figures for nutritional adequacy (AKG) from the National Nutrition Agency. When the required AKG is already met from other foods, milk should not be given.
“Milk can be given or not, because milk also has other substitutes. This milk contains mainly protein and mineral vitamins,” he said while reviewing the MBG program at SDN Susukan 01 and 02, Ciracas, East Jakarta, Tuesday (7/1/2025).
Therefore, according to him, not every MBG menu is accompanied by milk. Because, there are still other foods whose protein and vitamin intake is the same as milk, such as tempeh and tofu. However, he ensures the nutritional adequacy of each MBG is already met.
In addition, Adita added, milk provision is also adapted to the location of MBG implementation. When the location of MBG is far from the cow's milk center, milk can be replaced with other ingredients.
Even so, according to Adita, it will continue to evaluate MBG's implementation. The evaluation will also be adjusted to the results of consultations from the National Nutrition Agency.
“So milk is once again an evaluation material, but please be aware that this does not always have to be there. The important thing is that the nutritional content is sufficient. We have consulted a nutritionist,” he said.
Based on the observation of Republika, the MBG menu provided in SDN Susukan 01 and 02 is not accompanied by milk. The menu includes rice, tempeh, scrambled eggs, carrots and oranges.
