REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia national team player Eliano Reijnders said that his older brother Tijjani Reijnders will support him from afar when Indonesia faces Bahrain on matchday three of the third round of the 2026 World Cup Asia qualification at Bahrain National Stadium on Thursday (10/10/2024) at 23.00 pm.

Tijjani, who is an AC Milan player and the Dutch national team player, Eliano said, was happy to see him wearing the Indonesian uniform.

On Thursday (10/10/2024), Eliano and Mees Hilgers had a chance to make their debuts with the Red and White when relegated by coach Shin Tae-yong.

“I think he (Tijjani) will watch that game. He will watch the match. That was a good impression for us,” Eliano said as he attended the third day of training in Bahrain on Tuesday (8/10/2024) local time, quoted from an official statement received by Antara in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/10/2024).

Eliano arrived in Bahrain on Monday (7/10/2024) local time and went directly to the training exercise with other carriers the same day.

The PEC Zwolle player appeared focused and enjoyed Shin's direction during the light training session.

“Everything is good, this is my first time joining the team and it was a good training session,” Eliano said.

In the match against Bahrain, Eliano hoped to end it by grabbing the first three points for Garuda in the third round after earning two crucial points against Saudi Arabia and Australia.

“I hope Thursday against Bahrain will be the first full point for us. That would be very impressive,” the 23-year-old concluded.
