REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The General Chairman of the Forum of Rectors of Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah University (FR PTMA), Prof Gunawan Budiyanto requested that the directorate general of tax could provide waivers for the campuses of FR PTMA in paying taxes.
“The Tax Director can also give us an ease of breathing, now this is wonderful, we are aware that good citizens pay taxes, but we are also aware that it is actually a credit account, so we already have this name emotional account to this nation, so that the emotional bank account is not damaged give us a little bit of a breath to calculate approximately how much our tax burden is, of course we are a non-profit institution, probably already millions of alumni of Muhammadiyah school Well without incriminating RAPBN,” Gunawan said.
He reminded that the Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah University has been doing before independence until now. Gunawan said that Muhammadiyah's consensus on education should not be doubted. Seventeen years before NKRI was born, Muhammadiyah had already established the Ongko Loro school. In 1954 or 1955 in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, the College of Law and Philosophy was established.
“The long history of Muhammadiyah's devotion to the nation through education should certainly not be doubted, we have a strong educational ecosystem and we do not give burdens to the government,” Gunawan said at the PTMA Rector's Thoughts Discordant For President-elect Prabowo Subianto at UMJ, Wednesday (2/9/2024).
He asserted that many Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Colleges stand firmly on their own strength. Therefore, many people say that it is time for Muhammadiyah to receive an award from the government or from this nation.
According to Gunawan, the government does not need to give much appreciation. FR PTMA was given cool regulations in order to protect the vocal movement from Muhammadiyah to help enlighten the Indonesian nation.
Gunawan said that UMJ is one of the pioneers of Muhammadiyah universities in Indonesia, its alumni are more than 75 thousand. They've been moving everywhere to help build. Now 164 Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Colleges are working together to prepare Indonesia for gold through the education of the nation's children.
“So we are given the right rules for Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Universities, and we will stand firmly in front to defend NKRI and Pancasila,” Gunawan said.
