Prabowo says Indonesia is ready to take care of the Gazan children

Indonesia is willing to evacuate 1,000 Gaza patients to be treated in a hospital in Indonesia.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President-elect and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia is ready to seek assistance for the Palestinian people facing the humanitarian disaster in Gaza. One of the efforts that will be made will be to increase contributions to the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).

“We will significantly increase our contribution to UNRWA and other humanitarian assistance,” Prabowo told the participant of 'Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza' summit in Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday (11/6/2024).

In addition, Indonesia said it would send more medical teams and field hospitals to Gaza. Indonesia is also ready to send hospital ships and participate in airdrop deliveries to Gaza if needed again.

Prabowo added that Indonesia was also willing to evacuate 1,000 patients to be treated in Indonesian hospitals. The patient will be returned after recovering and the situation in Gaza returns to normal.

Finally, Indonesia is also ready to provide post-traumatic care and education for Gaza's children. The children were judged to be able to be returned when the situation stabilized again.

“We are also willing to evacuate children and orphans to be given post-traumatic care and schooling, and to return to Gaza when the situation becomes normal,” Prabowo said.
