The Queue for Hajj in Lebak Has Reached 27 Years

The long queue for the hajj is because the registration continues to increase.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, RANGKAS BITUNG -- The waiting list for hajj pilgrims in Lebak Regency, Banten Province, to Mecca has reached 27 years.

"The waiting list for the Hajj in Banten Province is an average of 27 years," said Head of the Hajj and Umrah Section of the Ministry of Religion, Lebak Regency, H Baban Bahtiar, in Lebak, Thursday (Mar.28, 2024).

The number of pilgrims on the waiting list in Lebak Regency is currently more than 20 thousand people. They have registered online with the integrated hajj computerized system.

The queue for departure to Makkah congregations in Lebak will be until 2051. The long queue for the Hajj is because the registration process in Banten Province continues to increase. On the other hand, the Hajj departure quota is relatively limited.

Even so, the Lebak Regency Ministry of Religion Office continues to serve people who register for the Hajj. Meanwhile, the number of hajj pilgrims from Lebak who will depart for this year's Hajj season is recorded at 805 people. There were 691 pilgrims who had paid their hajj travel expenses.
