REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Inspector General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Ministry of Religious Affairs) Faisal Ali Hashim targets the satisfaction index of Hajj worshippers at the 2024 Hajj service could reach 95 percent. He also hopes that the Hajj officers who will serve in Saudi Arabia can provide the best service for Indonesian pilgrims.
“We hope to be above 95 percent. That's why I want the job description of the officer to be clear. I ask for the discipline of officers in carrying out duties especially towards elderly worshippers,” Faisal said during the Bimtek PPIH 1445 Hijriah/2024 AD event, at Haji Pondok Gede Dormitory, East Jakarta, Sunday (24/3/2024) evening.
At its core, Faisal hopes the satisfaction of this year's hajj worshippers will increase compared to last year. The satisfaction of worshippers is largely determined by the services of the Hajj officer.
Therefore, when he goes to Saudi Arabia later, he will immediately ensure the performance of the heads of the sector. Because, it is the head of the sector who is most responsible for ensuring all the performance of Hajj officers in the performance of their duties.
“That's why the head of the sector is very instrumental in making sure that the officer's performance goes as expected. Well, that's what I need to remind many times later so that things should be done regularly,” Faisal said.
He also urged officers to be at the forefront of providing services to worshippers, as well as not to violate a signed integrity pact. In addition, he said, Hajj officers should also work with full responsibility.
“Respect and empathy for the interests of worshippers, focus on duty and not prioritize worship,” Faisal said.
Meanwhile, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organization (PHU) Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hilman Latief said that this year the Indonesian government got a quota of 241,000 worshippers, the most in history. Meanwhile, the number of elderly worshippers this year amounted to 45 thousand.
In order to optimize Hajj services this year, the government also enforced Istithaah Kesehatan as the main condition for the departure of prospective Hajj (Calhaj) worshippers.
“There are several strategies for optimizing the service. Of course, what is somewhat substantive is to strengthen the health screening facilities, which last year were considered less strict because the worshipers who were waiting for 2020-2021 who did not leave last year,” Hilman explained after giving directions in the activities of the PPIH Guide of Saudi Arabia.
