REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Several areas in DKI Jakarta have reportedly experienced flooding due to extreme weather that occurred in the past few days. In fact, in the area of Tegal Alur Village, Kalideres District, West Jakarta, flooding occurred for more than 24 hours.
Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said that the rains that have occurred in recent days are very extreme in intensity, reaching 200 millimeters (mm) per day. In fact, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta already when the intensity of rain reached 180 mm per day in more than four hours.
“(Moreover) 200 (mm per day). So everything please be understood. I apologize that West Jakarta was flooded yesterday as well,” Heru said when he met in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Monday (25/3/2024).
Heru admitted that the flood occurred in Tegal Alur neighborhood for more than 24 hours. In fact, hundreds of flood-affected residents in the region had to evacuate. According to Heru, the flooding in Tegal Alur did not only occur due to high rainfall. More than that, there was a flood of rob and water shipments.
“But we have overcome it. This is because of the rain and the rain that was 200 mm, so there were also shipments,” the head of the presidential secretariat (kasetpres) said.It was reported that the area of Tegal Alur Village, Kalideres District, experienced flooding since Friday (22/3/2024). There are hundreds of people who were evacuated due to flooding in Tegal Alur.
