REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Flood in Kabupaten Demak, Central Java, impacts Java North Cost (Pantai Utara Jawa/Pantura) road. Government temporally blocking the road and asks drivers to follow alternative routes.
General Director of Land Transportation in Ministry of Transportation (Kementerian Perhubungan/Kemenhub) Hendro Sugiatno asks drivers to notice alternative routes along Pantura. "Follow signs and officers directions on site when you asked to," Hendro told Republika, Sunday (Mar.24, 2024).
Hendro explained, Kemenhub and stakeholders already provided alternative routes and traffic signs in Pantura for drivers in, especially along Demak and Kudus towards Pati, Tuban, and Surabaya.
First alternative route is Semarang-Demak take left turn at Simpang Trengguli. After that, continue to Trengguli-Welahan-Margoyoso and following Margoyoso-Kudus-Pati route.
If there were a traffic jam in Margoyoso-Kudus, drivers can take route to Margoyoso-Jepara-Keling-Tayu-Pati.
The the third, from west, drivers can follow Semarang-Lingkar Demak route, then tak route to Demak-Godong-Klambu-Kudus and continue to Jalur Lingkar Kudus-Pati.
Hendro makes sure, Kementerian PUPR would accelerate road repair cause by flood before period of mudik at March 5th. "Local goverment prepares heavy machines to overcome any disaster that may come," Hendro added.
