REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, HANOI -- Indonesia national team coach Shin Tae-yong (STY) revealed that some of his players are not doing so well ahead of the fourth match of Group F of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup qualifier second round against Vietnam at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on Tuesday (26/3/2024). This was said by STY after leading the team's inaugural training with a focus on physical recovery on Saturday (23/3/2024) evening upon arrival in Hanoi, Vietnam on the same day.
“The condition of the players is not very good, there are some players who are quite severe,” Shin Tae-yong said after training on the field of the My Dinh Stadium complex in Hanoi, reported on the official PSSI website on Sunday (24/3/2024).
STY said Garuda's squad would later have to lose several players, two of whom were Nadeo Argawinata and Marc Klok who suffered injuries. “For Nadeo we decided not to be taken. And the second is Marc Klok, he also has an injury so we don't bring him,” Shin Tae-yong said.
The South Korean coach also added that Sandy Walsh was not in the squad for the match against Vietnam this time because he had to serve a yellow card penalty. As a result, Ernando Ari was called back by STY to fill the goalkeeper position left by Nadeo.
Persib Bandung player Rachmat Irianto and Persija Jakarta player Muhammad Ferarri are also rumored to be called up before facing Vietnam in Hanoi.
