REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PANGKALPINANG -- The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia stated that the number of food and beverage products in Indonesia that have halal certificates has reached 1.4 million more by March 2024.
“We target all food and beverage products already certified as halal on October 17 of this year,” said Deputy for Micro Enterprises of Kemenkop and SME Yulius at the opening of Mandatory Halal Socialization and 1,000 Halal Certification Facility in Pangkalpinang, Thursday (7/3/2024).
He said that currently 1.6 million MSME products in Indonesia consisting of food, beverage, and other products have been registered for halal certification. This as a government move encourages economic growth and public welfare.
“For Bangka Belitung itself, MSME products that have a new halal certificate 2,532 and this is new little and should be encouraged continuously through the program of issuing 1,000 halal certificates,” he said.

He stated that if this year the government's target of certifying halal food and beverage products has not been reached, Kemenkop UKM will loosen the policy in the management of this halal certificate.
