Currently, the tuning of the polycarbonate printing tools to be used is being prepared. “After this will be sent blangko for passports from the center,” he added.

According to him, the process of making a polycarbonate passport is the same as for the previous one. Currently, the cost of manufacturing a polycarbonate passport is also the same at Rp 650 thousand. While for passport acceleration services, there is a non-tax State Acceptance Rate (PNBP) of Rp 1 million.

Guntur said the average quota of passport applicants at Semarang Immigration reaches 300 people per day. On that polycarbonate sheet electronic passport, the biodata page uses stronger materials like plastic, so it can't fold.

It differs from ordinary passports and electronic passports that on biodata page sheets are made with laminated paper material. “Polycarbonate materials have better resistance and are on average already worn in countries in Europe,” he added.
