REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Now people are at the moment of a political year that often causes strife in their midst. In this regard, the Prophet (PBUH) reminded his people to always maintain brotherhood and not to antagonize each other.
Narrated by Abu Hurairah RA, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
لَا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَحَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا
Do not scold each other, scold each other, look for problems, look for mistakes, deceive each other. But be ye servants of God, brethren.” (Trasmitted by Muslim).
Allah said: “Indeed, the believers are brothers. So make peace between your brothers (who are in dispute) and fear Allah that you may have mercy (QS Al Hujurat verse 10).
Peace is grace, both in the world and in the afterlife. Any mischief among men is greater than the great sin which was forbidden by the Prophet Muhammad.
In another narration, Rasulullah SAW said, "The doors of heaven are opened on Mondays and Thursdays and all servants who do not associate partners with Allah with anything will be forgiven, except for two men who are enemies with their brothers. So it is said, 'Suspend the deeds of two people. "(HR Muslim).
In fact, reconciling two disputing parties is a form of charity. Narrated from Ibn Umar, Rasulullah SAW said, "The best alms is to reconcile disputes." (HR Thabrani and Al Bazzar).
Former Mufti of Egypt, Sheikh Ali Jum'ah, explained that calm and tranquility among humans is something that places a servant in the grace of Allah SWT and His pleasure.
"Allah SWT answers your (prayer), helps you, eliminates your anxiety, and makes you open-minded. So enlighten your heart, ask Allah SWT for forgiveness and cover your disgrace," he said.
