Always see a partner as a best friend who lives an equal life journey
In terms of obligations and rights, husband and wife do have different roles, but between them one should not feel higher in degree than the other.
The advantages that Allah has given between these couples is a provision for carrying responsibilities in the family. Although both were created with different personalities and physical forms, the Quran never mentions a wife with term zaujah. In fact, the Quran mentions wives with term zauj in many verses.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوْا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ مِّنْ نَّفْسٍ وَّاحِدَةٍ وَّخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا
“O man! Fear your Lord, who created you from the one (Adam), and (God) created his partner (Eve) from his (self)...” (QS An-Nice: 1).
هُوَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَكُم مِّنْ نَّفْسٍ وَّاحِدَةٍ وَّجَعَلَ مِنۡهَا زَوْجَهَا
“He created you from the soul of the one (Adam) and from it He created his partner” (QS Al-A'raf: 129).
In Arabic, zauj is used to mean husband, while zaujah is used to mean wife. The Qur'an refers to a wife with lafal zauj as it is appropriate to call a husband.
Always increase your enthusiasm for worshiping Allah
This is very important because of the love between husband and wife, including the blessings that God has given.
Allah SWT is a figure who strengthens the hearts of husband and wife to love and care for each other within the household. Allah has the nature of Muqallibal Qulub (the One who turns hearts upside down).
Before the marriage bond, prospective husband and wife may not have enjoyed such deep love between them. Even so, it is important to note, when Allah is angry with a husband and wife due to their sins, it is possible that Allah will break the bond of love between the two of them.
Pray that Allah will make his partner the comfort of his heart
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
"And those who say, 'Our Lord, grant us our spouses and our offspring as a delight in (our) hearts, and make us leaders of the pious people'." (QS al-Furqan: 74)
In this verse, the Koran fulfills the characteristics of righteous people whom Allah calls ibad ar-rahman (servants of the Most Merciful Essence). They are blessed with the characteristic of always praying for their life partner and their offspring, so that they will always be a comfort to their hearts.
