REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) continues to carry out the certification of worship places and waqaf land. During his working visit to Pekalongan, Deputy Minister for Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) Raja Juli Antoni submitted 16 waqf certificates for mosques, small mosques (mushola), educational facilities, and other public facilities.
Located in Nur Rahman Mosque, Warulor, Wiradesa, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java, Raja Antoni said that since the start of the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) Program rolled out by President Joko Widodo, it has successfully certified 135,012 fields. The program started 7 years ago.
According to him, PTSL is a revolutionary program, as it managed to increase the rate of land registration 1.5 times compared to the 39 years of the previous administration which reached 97,420 fields. As Antoni said, the average annual certification increased from 2,497 to 19,287 per year.
“Thanks to Mr. Widodo's PTSL Program, the certification of waqf land has increased by 772 percent,” he said on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Antoni explained the importance of certifying the land of the waqf, because there are often problems after a generation that has no authority. So, he said, land certification is not about snobbery (riya), but for the sake of the welfare of the waqf land itself.
“Often we hear in the first generation there is no problem, the second generation is still safe, but when the third, fourth, there starts to be disputes. So that's the importance of certification so that there are no problems in the future,” he explained.
On this occasion, Antoni also handed over 7 waqf land certificates belonging to the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and one certificate belonging to Muhammadiyah as well as certificates belonging to foundations and other individuals.
Antoni mentioned the success of the certification is a result of cooperation between the Minitstry and the community. Therefore, he asked that the people continue to participate vigorously by registering its waqf land with the local land office.
“With all humility, I invite anyone if there is uncertified waqf land, to take it to the land office," he said.
