REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) secretary general Hasto Kristiyanto denied the issue that said Nadiem Makarim or widely known as CEO and cofounder online transportation app Gojek has joined his party. He also asserted that in PDIP database, there was no Nadiem’s name.
“In our database currently, Mr Nadiem has not become PDIP member,” Hasto said on Monday (July 23).
Earlier, there was a rumour that said Nadiem has became one of PDIP cadres. In addition, he also has important position in the party that led by former president Megawati Soekarnoputri and supported incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Hasto said PDIP has indeed to continue in recruiting the next cadres. However, before someone becomes a cadre, he/she must have same visions and missions with the party.
“Of course as a party, the recruitment function continues. However, someone who becomes a party member must have same understanding of the visions and missions,” Hasto explained.
