REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Bali Provincial Police Head, Inspector General of Police Petrus Reinhard Golose has ensured that Bali remains safe for domestic and foreign tourists following the unrest over the presidential election result dispute on May 22, 2019.
"Our neighboring countries have also issued travel advisories or travel warnings to Indonesia, yes, fellow neighbors of ASEAN countries, despite no disturbances to their citizens here, so Bali is safe. Bali remains safe as a destination for tourists," he noted here on Tuesday.
Following a ceremony on readying personnel for securing the Lebaran 2019, or the post-fasting festivities, at the Bajra Sandhi Field, Renon, Denpasar, Golose noted that his side had collaborated with the Bali governor, Bali military commander, head of the Bali provincial prosecutor's office, and other institutions to be on the frontline for maintaining security and order when foreign and domestic tourists visit Bali.
"Presently, there are no threats on the Island of the Gods," the Bali provincial police chief emphasized.
In a bid to offer security to tourists, cross-institutional cooperation has been established to step up patrolling, involving uniformed and non-uniformed security personnel. On the occasion, Bali Governor I Wayan Koster also backed the Bali provincial police chief''s decisive action against those looking to disrupt Bali's security situation, particularly those intending to hinder the security and comfort of tourists in Bali.
"Just act firmly, as Bali is a world tourism destination that should ensure order, security, and comfort to tourists," he noted.
Various locations have been safeguarded to enable Balinese people to benefit from tourism in Bali in an orderly and safe manner. He also called on Balinese to partake in the efforts to safeguard tourism in Bali.
"On-field examination shows that Bali is safe. To countries that issue warnings to their citizens about security in traveling, especially to Bali, I ensure that Bali remains safe," Bali Governor I Wayan Koster stated.
