REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Defendant in Riau-1 coal-fired power plant (PLTU) construction project bribery case, Idrus Marham has been charged five years imprisonment by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor. He was also required to pay a Rp 300 million fine, subsider four months confinement.
“We charge in order to make panel judges state that the defendant has proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing graft act,” said KPK prosecutor Lie Putra Setiawan on Thursday (March 21).
In his indictment, Idrus was proven to have received gifts from businessman Johannes, as many as Rp 2,25 billion. He also knew and has taken part related to money that received by former Golkar Party lawmaker Eni Malulani Saragih when he served as Acting Golkar Party general chairman in November to December 2017 and as social affairs minister.
Idrus was believed to have received a promise to get the money as Eni, who helped Johannes to get Independent Power Producer (IPP) project of Riau-1 coal-fired power plant (PLTU). The project is planned to be carried out by PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Investasi (PJBI), Blackgold Natural Resources and China Huadian Engineering Company Ltd.
