REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK -- Price pressure during the Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh festival in West Kalimantan is predicted to be under control despite the annual pattern of inflation, head of the province's Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office said. The price pressure during the festival would be lower than the 2018 year end inflation rate, BI said.

"It's an annual pattern, in every event of religious celebration and new year. But for the Lunar New Year, (the price) is still under control," Prijono said here on Tuesday.

Prijono explained some commodities that contributed to the inflation rate during the lunar year celebration including wet shrimp, cayenne pepper, oranges, garlic and chicken eggs.

The authority would pay attention on price pressure from airfares which always contributes to the inflation rates, he added.
