REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Director of PT Indonesia Asahan Alumunium (Inalum) Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the definitive draft of the Special Mining Business Licence (IUPK) has been completed. It means that Freeport has been able to sign the IUPK.

"The IUPK has been completed," Budi said at the ESDM Ministry on Friday (12/21).

However, Budi was still reluctant to comment on whether his side had completed the transaction or not. When asked if he had finished the transaction, he just smiled. "Insya Allah (God willing)," Budi said.

He gave the same answer when asked whether announcement and signing was held today. "IUPK (signing) is in Mr Jonan's place (Ministry of energy and mineral resources). Insya Allah (today)," Budi said.

According to Republika.co.id's observation, several parties have already arrived at Ministry of energy and mineral resources (ESDM). Besides the Managing Director of Inalum Budi Gunadi Sadikin, the Minister of state-owned enterprises Rini Soemarno also entered the Herritage building at ESDM Ministry. Both of them went straight to the room of the Minister of ESDM Ignasius Jonan.

Previously, the Director General of Mineral and Coal of ESDM Bambang Gatot Ariyono claimed that the definitive of IUPK for PT Freeport Indonesia had been completed for the section of ESDM Ministry. The section, said Bambang, was a smelter issue and an extension of the 2x10 years contract extension.

However, Bambang said that for environmental and financial affairs it was not the ESDM task force's issue. The environmental issue was the task of Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), and the Ministry of Finance related to taxation and state revenues.

"We have finished everything. For environmental issues you can ask KHLK. About finance is the Ministry of Finance," Bambang said at the ESDM Ministry Office, Monday (Dec 17).
