BNN foils attempt to smuggle new types of drugs from Germany

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Anti Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the customs and excise office foiled attempt to smuggle new types of drugs from Germany into Indonesia. The authorities seized the drugs on Thursday at 02.00 local time at the Narita Hotel in Surabaya and arrested suspects husband and wife Saipul and Fitriani, and two other men Asmanto and Ismawan.

"The result of the operation by BNN in cooperation with the Customs and Excise office unveiled the operation of drug syndicate of Kendari - Tanjung Pinang - Surabaya," a deputy chief of BNN Ir. Gen. Arman Depari said in a statement here on Tuesday.

Among the proofs confiscated included liquid marijuana in four card boxed containing 22 bottles with the brand of Hempseed/Cannabis Sativa ordered through online and the drug was sent through Retouren Service Centre c/o Deutsche Post GM Germany.

The marijuana oil has been examined at the BNN laboratory showing it contains Canabidiol and Dronabinol, new type of drug products(New Psycoactive Substances/NPS).

BNN also confiscated five packs of 20,000 blue and orange ecstasy pills. The BNN team moved on information about illegal operation drugs in Tanjung Pinang, Arman said.
