Kiai Ma'ruf attends closing of Perindo candidates' briefing

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian vice-presidential candidate KH Ma'ruf Amin attended the closing of a briefing of the Perindo Party candidates at the iNews Tower Building, Central Jakarta, late Tuesday. He was invited by Perindo Party leader Hary Tanoesoedibjo.

"I thank Mr Hary Tanoe, who invited me today to speak before the Perindo Party," Kiai Ma'ruf noted in his address.

Kiai Ma'ruf remarked that the place where he delivered the speech was the venue mentioned as the debate arena for the 2019 presidential and vice presidential candidates. He said the opportunity offered to him by Perindo was a place to practice for the presidential-vice presidential debate.

"This was the place for the presidential-vice presidential debate, if only today I would just train," Kiai Ma'ruf remarked.

Kiai Ma'ruf stated that Perindo was a powerful party, as it had obtained the number 9 considered by many to be good. He also expressed hope that Perindo would pass several DPR members after achieving the targets of fulfilling the party's tasks and populist duties, so that they could contribute to a prosperous Indonesia.

While addressing the Perindo candidates, Kiai Ma'ruf also expressed hope that he would be elected as vice president. "Today, I stand in front of the Perindo Party as a vice president candidate. I hope to stand in front of Perindo once again as vice president. Hopefully, I just want to help Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to complete what has been done in arranging stakes and milestones in order to make Indonesia more prosperous," Kiai Ma'ruf explained.
