REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that Sail Moyo Tambora 2018 which was held in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, could evoke tourism in the province after the earthquake disaster. He lauded the event which was also filled with a series of charity and social activities in an effort to generate enthusiasm and reduce the burden of earthquake victims.

"The Sail Moyo Tambora 2018 event is the beginning of the recovery of Lombok and Sumbawa tourism after the earthquake disaster," he said in a written statement received here on Sunday.

Sail Moyo Tambora 2018 is the 10th sail from the Sail Indonesia series being held in Tambora on September 9-23 2018. Sail Indonesia has been implemented to accelerate the development of underdeveloped regions in Indonesia.

West Nusa Tenggara has been chosen as the host this year because it has abundant marine resources.

"Sumbawa deserves to be chosen as the location for organizing Sail Moyo Tambora 2018, because the charm of Moyo Island is well-known in the world. Lady Diana, MC Jagger and a number of celebrities visited Moyo Island," Luhut who inaugurated Sail Moyo Tambora 2018 said.
