REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) said alleged political dowry that was given by Sandiaga Uno to Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and National Mandate Party (PAN) to enable him to be vice presidential candidate of the opposition camp was not proven. The statement was conveyed by Bawaslu chairman Abhan in a written statement.
“Whereas with regard to the principal report number 01/LP/PP/RI/00.00/VIII/2018 that stated alleged compensation in the form of money given by Sandiaga Uno to PKS and PAN in the process of nominating the president and vice president cannot be legally proven," said Abhan on Friday (August 31).
Abhan said after receiving report from United Indonesia Federation chairman Frits Bramy Daniel on August 14, Bawaslu immediately followed up. Furthermore, Bawaslu also conducted an inspection by inviting the reported party and witnesses to clarify.
"From three witnesses who were submitted, one on behalf Andi Arief can’t testify since he didn’t fulfill the summon by Bawslu for two times,” Abhan explained.
Andi’s absence made the report to Bawaslu unclear. He was the only one source of information from reporters and witnesses who stated that the case they told were not event they saw directly, but only through his Twitter account.
Andi who was in Lampung during the summons called Bawaslu was lazy. He thought that Bawaslu should come and meet him in Lampung. "Bawaslu is lazy and not serious," he said.
Meanwhile, Abhan said Bawaslu had summoned him several times but he never respond. "So you can judge who's not serious," Abhan said.
Andi Arief who is Democratic Party’s elite once tweeted a harsh statement on his personal Twitter account @AndiArief__. He accused transactional politics has occured in Sandiaga nomination as Gerindra Chief Patron Prabowo Subianto’s running mate in 2019 presidential election.
Prabowo picked Sandiaga at the very last moment and Andi seemed to be disappointed to hear Sandiaga’s name arose. He believed Sandiaga gave Rp 500 billion each to PKS and PAN.
Bawaslu member, Fritz Edward Siregar said his party did not have basic evidence to summon Sandiaga in alleged political dowry. He stressed that Andi Arief was absent again.
“What is the basic for us? While the party who suspect the alleged case doesn’t convey to us,” said Fritz.
