REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- The discourse to impose fee for four-wheeled vehicles entering Jakarta is considered unfair by many people in Bogor, especially car drivers. The policy was being discussed by Jabodetabek Transportation Agency (BPTJ) with the assumption that cars from Jakarta to Bogor on the weekend also have caused traffic jam.

"If the regulation is imposed, it would harm many parties, especially car drivers who have mobility in Jakarta," said one of Bogor residents, Abdul Halim on Tuesday (3/4).

Moreover, there were a lot of Bogor residents who worked in the Jakarta area. Abdul said the policy was considered to be unfair for private cars users and public transportation drivers.

He urged the authority to reconsider the discourse. "The policy can be considered discriminative, how if Bogor also has same policy?" said Abdul.

Other Bogor resident, Satrio also objected with the plan. He often used private car to Jakarta when vacation or meet with his family.

"Because use private vehicles is more practice, so if the policy is applied, many people feel harm," Satrio added.

Satrio asked government to rethink the discourse. "Do not make a policy that suppress many people," he said.
