REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - National's police stated that they don't have authority related to Ustaz Abdul Somad deportation from Hong Kong. The deportation was fully of the Hong Kong authority Government.

According to Iqbal as a sovereign country, Hong Kong has its own authority. It was similar with Indonesia. As the state, Indonesia should not be disturbed by other countries.

"It's similar with our country, when Indonesia encounters certain authorities, other countries should not intervene," said Iqbal.

Iqbal confirmed, so far there was no request from any institution to the Police related to Abdul Somad's deportation. The police also didn't have connection whatsoever regarding the return of Abdul Somad.

He also added that the Police and the Indonesian government itself has not received any explanation from the Hong Kong government regarding the rejection. "So far there's no (notice), we affirmed that the National's police has nothing to do with the return of Ustaz Somad. It was entirely the authority of the Hong Kong government," Iqbal said.
