REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The non-active House of Representatives speaker Setya Novanto (Setnov)'s lawyer, Firman Wijaya expected pretrial motion filed by his client could be continued completely. 

He said that even though Novanto will face inaugural session at Corruption Court as scheduled on Wednesday (December 13).

"The pretrial is not only for the sake of formal legal process, but also we are also preserving human rights, namely the legal authority is not carried out arbitrarily. It's the legal principal in the pretrial," said Firman on Tuesday (December 12).

Novanto's lawyer has filed another pretrial motion at South Jakarta District Court to challenge his suspect status in e-ID card procurement graft case for the second time.

The court then appointed Kusno as the sole judge to handle the pretrial hearing that was scheduled on Thursday (December 14).

"So let the pretrial process run until the examination process of the case," Firman added.

Novanto was re-appointed as a suspect in e-ID card graft case on November 3. He once named as suspect in July, but later has sucheeded invalid his status by winning a pretrial motion on September 29.
