REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former chairman of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Abraham Samad along with several anti-corruption activists suggested President Joko Widodo to establish of a Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) to uncover case of an acid attack to anti-graft body's senior investigator, Novel Baswedan.
Samad said, 200 days have passed and the investigation of the acid attack against Novel has been stagnant.
"Therefore, we urge KPK leaders to propose the establishment of TGPF on Novel case," Samad said during his visit to KPK office, Jakarta, Tuesday.
According to Samad, if the case can not be revealed, it will disrupt the existence of KPK.

"So it's like if the KPK is in pain, then all the former leaders should feel it and must have the sensitivity to give full support to KPK," he said.
Samad said, the establishment of TGPF is the last resort to reveal the assailants who attack Novel. "Police are unable to uncover the case for the last 200 days. We are worried, if the case is not solved, other incidents might occur," he said.
Responding to the suggestion, KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo said, the anti-graft bdy is still considering the proposed TGPF establishment. "We will asked the other KPK leaders. The result can not be conveyed today," he said.
Agus said, if all KPK leaders agree with the proposal then they will convey it to the President.
Meanwhile, Chief of National Police Public Relations Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul said, the investigation of Novel case is not terminated. Nevertheless, there were constraints in investigating the case.
"There were technical constraints faced by the investigators," he remarked at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
The attack happened early morning on April 11, after Novel performed a morning prayer (subuh) in a mosque near his house in North Jakarta.
