REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the case of US govenment travel ban policy against Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Gatot Nurmantyo has been solved. Therefore, he asked dispute on the incident to be ended.

He said, the US government has apologized and explained the cause of incident.

According to Kalla, US as superpower country would hesitate to convey an apology easily. However, US has admitted their mistake and regretted the inconvenience caused.

"The superpower country such as US is not easy to convey an apology. They have done the right step to apologize and we don't need to dispute the incident anymore," Kalla said on Thursday (Oct 26).

Kalla said, he has received an official clarification from the US government sent through its embassy. Based on the official letter, US said there was an administrative error that made it happened.

Gatot, his wife, and Indonesia's delegations were about to fly to US to attend a conference under the invitation of US Commander Joseph Dunford Jr in Washington DC. He was scheduled to depart on Saturday (Oct 21) at 5 pm on Emirates flight number EK 0357.

Just before taking off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Gatot was informed he could not be able to enter US. He said to have been notified of the restriction by Emirates' authorities.
