REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Presidium of Alumni of 212 Rally 212 Slamet Maarif said there is an indication if element of the Parliament supported efforts to the resurrection of Indonesian Communist Party (PKI). Therefore, the Presidium staged 299 rally dedicated to support House of representatives (DPR) to clean itself from PKI.

According to him, members of DPR might have the idea to revoke Temporary People's Consultative Assembly Decree (TAP MPRS) No. 25 of 1966 on the banning of communism in Indonesia.

"Whoever, any members of DPR who wants to try to revoke TAP MPRS No. 25/1966 is enemy of Muslims and they also PKI," Maarif said, Friday (September 29).

However, he saw there were indications certain groups wanted to try to separate Islam from Indonesia. They tried to make a distance this country from what called Islamic values and also from Pancasila.

"We can't deny if it was there, whereas Muslims make contribution in our freedom, even Pancasila is the greatest gift of Muslim people in Indonesia," he explained.

Maarif argued indications parliament supported PKI could see from presidential regulation in lieu of law (Perppu) No.2/2017 on Mass Organizations that was signed on July 10.

He also said if this law just gave birth to new authoritarian and new tyranny in Indonesia.

"Our country will beasily dissolve mass organizations and Islamic movements which have different ideas with the government," he added.
