BI sets maximum charge of e-money top-up

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Bank Indonesia (BI) has officially set the maximum charge of electronic money (e-money) top-up. The cost depended on the existing method payment, namely “off us” and “on us”. 

The off us or cross-channel method is e-money top-up through payment channels by different card issuers or through partners, such as through supermarkets dan other retailers. The cost was set as much as Rp 1.500.

Meanwhile, the on us or one channel method is topping up e-money through the channel of payment owned by the card issuer. BI has allowed the bank or card issuers to free the cost or charge the consumer with a maximum rate of Rp750. 

Executive Director of BI Communication Departement Agusman explained the new regulation manage top-up charge that was once varies. 

“Therefore, the issuer which currently applied the charge above the maximum limit must make adjustment,” Agusman said in Jakarta, Thursday (November 21). 

The terms for the electronic money top-up charge stated in the Members of Governor Board Regulation No.19 / 10 / PADG / 2017 dated September 20, 2017 on the National Payment Gateway (PADG GPN).
