REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The National Police would help Jakarta Metro Police to investigate Novel Baswedan's case. Novel is a Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s investigator who suffered injuries after being attacked with toxic liquid by two unidentified men.
“Yes, we started helping the investigator of Jakarta Metro Police. We will be more intense to back it up so the case can be revealed,” said the Spokesperson of National Police Rikwanto in Jakarta on Wednesday (June 14).
Rikwanto said the investigation was still ongoing. Police are still looking for the assailants. He said a number of investigation methods had been done to reveal them.
“There were two methods, deductive and inductive from internal to external. We did it all. Please be patient. The investigators are working,” he said.

On April 11, Novel was splashed with toxic liquid by two unidentified men in Deposito Street in front of al-Ikhsan Mosque, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta on after dawn praying at 05.10 am. Novel suffered a wound on the face and swelling on the left eyelid, while the assailants fled.
Police officers arrested four suspected people, including M, H, AL and N alias N. But, lately police released the four men because there was insufficient evidence of terrorist act against Novel.
