Police must consider to stop the case: Firza's lawyer

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Firza Husein’s lawyer Aziz Yanuar felt glad the Attorney General Office had reject the case file of alleged steamy conversation. The case file was returned to the Jakarta Metro Police after reviewing it for two hours on Wednesday. 

By the decision of the attorney, Aziz said police should consider to stop the case. He argued that the private territory case would be a negative precedent for law enforcers.

"Law of Information and Electronic transaction article 26 verse 1 clearly said that the private territory including conversation between parties, whether through Whatsapp or other application. It means that the private territory was protected by the law,” he said.

From the aspect of pornography, Aziz said that it was not contain any crime element as it was private. It was distributed by a person to the others.

Firza Husein was named as suspect after police showed some evidence. Spokesperson of Jakarta Metro Police Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said the evidence come from expert witness was sufficient to name Firza as suspect.

Firza’s file then submitted to the AGO. But, it was stated to be incomplete and the AGO sent P18 letter to Jakarta Metro Police. The incompleteness would be described on P19. Police said to immediately complete the file.
