REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Spokesperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Febri Diansyah said Novel’s left eye condition did not show a significant progress.

"For the left eye, the growth of his corneal membrane was still low. His eye’s pressure was better on 19. And the accumulation of calcium in the eye had been lower,” said him in KPK Building, South Jakarta, on Friday (May 5).

Febri added that the condition of Novel’s right eye was better especially in the corneal membrane. A lense was put on his right eye so the growth was quicker.

"There was no infection after the lense was implanted. The eye pressure was normal,” said him.

Doctors in Singapore kept on checking the condition and gave routine treatments. Based on the specialist checking yesterday (May 4), a number of treatments were given to Novel’s eyes.

The first was a manual checking to know its physical condition. It was checked by using color indication. After that, chemical liquid was dropped to both of his eye balls. It was followed by a checking of the eyes’ pressure. The last was a checking for the implanted lense.

Novel said he hoped the Indonesian people had conscience and anti-corruption spirit. He also hoped that the House of Representatives showed its support to KPK and respected the on going legal process whether it was for e-ID procurement case or other cases.

On Friday (May 5), Novel had passed his 24 days after a tragic incident. Two unidentified men splashed toxic liquid to him after he had a dawn prayer in a mosque. It was happened on Tuesday (April 11). He has been receiving many treatments for the last 23 days.
