Creative economy agency to bring together culinary businesses and investors

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) will bring together culinary startup businesses and investors at the Demoday Food Startup Indonesia (FSI) 2017, which will be held in Bali and Bandung (West Java).

"We support the development of a business ecosystem and increased culinary startup capacity through FSI 2017," Fadjar Hutomo, Bekraf's Deputy of Capital Access, stated in a press release received by Antara here, Tuesday.

At the event to be held in Bali from May 22 to 24 and in Bandung on July 17 to 19, the culinary startups can meet with their counterparts, as well as with experienced investors and mentors who can help improve their business.

Bekraf has held roadshows in five cities to encourage startup entrepreneurs to participate in the event.

The roadshows were in in Surabaya (East Java), Makassar (South Sulawesi), Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara), Medan (North Sumatra), and Jakarta.

At least 500 businesses and over 100 culinary startups have signed up to participate in the FSI 2017.

"The startups will present their business models before the investors and culinary experts," Fadjar said.

Ten culinary startups which were selected from Demoday in Bali and Bandung will meet with 10 nominated ones from the FSI 2016 in Jakarta, in August, Fadjar added.
