REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – A threatening twit by @NathanSuwanto became viral in social media. The twit mentioned some figures, among others the Deputy Chairman of Indonesian House of Representatives Fadli Zon and Fahri Hamzah, a member of Regional Representatives Council Fahira Idris, the Head of Islamic Defenders Front Muhammad Habib Rizieq Shihab, and a former lecturer Buni Yani.
The twit said, “If you know of a way to crowdfund assassins to kill Fahira Idris, Fadli Zon, Fahri Hamzah, Rizieq Shihab, Buni Yani and friends, lemme know."
The twit immediately got many responds. Fadli Zon said to report Nathan to police. “Are you sure you wanted to kill me? I will report you to police so you can threat me and spread terrors,” said him in a twit on Saturday (April 29).
Fahira also responded the twit. She made a contest for anyone who reported Nathan to police. “There is a contest for my friends in #Surabaya. If you report Nathan to police, there will be Xiaomi for the first rapporteur,” she said on a twit.
The twit also got many responds from netizens. Fadli Zon’s twit was shared 1,336 times, while Fahira’s got 1,047 shares. A twitter account by Ratna @Nana040515 said, “He had apologized, Uni. But it is better to take legal action.”
Another Twitter account by #KataNalar@ZAEffendy said, “The legal process must be continued. Murder threat was a crime, added with a posting on social media, it regulated on Law of Information and Electronic Transaction.”
The threatening twit was made on Saturday (April 29). After getting negative responds from netizen, Nathan made a letter to apologize. He admitted for doing mistakes and he promised not to repeat it.
