REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Central Statistical Agency (BPS) reported Indonesia's economic growth in the first quarter of 2025 was 4.87 percent. The figure is based on the prevailing price (ADHB) of Rp 5.665.9 trillion and on the basis of the constant price (ADHK) of Rp 3.264.5 trillion.
“Indonesia's economic growth in the first quarter of 2025 was 4.87 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024 or on a year-on-year (yoy) basis which amounted to 5.11 percent,” said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti in a press conference on Monday (5/5/2025).
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2024 or quarterly (qtq), Indonesia's economy contracted by 0.98 percent. BPS noted that in the fourth quarter of 2024, Indonesia's economic growth figure was 5.02 percent.
However, Amalia said, on a qtq basis economic growth in the first quarter of 2025 was in line with the pattern that occurred in previous years in each the first quarter was relatively always lower than in the fourth quarter of the previous year.
“From the point of view of the business field in the first quarter of 2025 on a year-on-year basis, all business fields grew positively except for the mining business field,” he said.
Amalia explained that the main business fields that contribute greatly to the gross domestic product (GDP) are the processing, trade, agriculture, construction industries, with a total contribution of 63.96 percent to GDP.
