Constitutional Court to decide verdict of regional elections cases

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Start from Monday (April 3), Constitutional Court (MK) would announce its decision on the lawsuits of the disputed result of simultaneous regional election 2017. There were 22 lawsuits would be judged on that day. 

The Spokesperson of MK Fajar Laksono said the lawsuits came from Central Bengkulu, Tebo, South Buton, Sorong, Mappi, Jepara, East Aceh, Aceh Singkil, Central Halmahera, Batu and Western Southeast Maluku. 

“We will also judge the lawsuit of disputes in Tolikara, Buru, Sarmi, Sangihe, Intan Jaya, Pidie, Bireuen and Southwest Aceh,” said him in a short message on Thursday (March 30). 

According to Fajar, the plenum would be conducted after two levels of trial completed. They were preliminary examination and hearing the answer of General Election Commission (KPU) and related parties to the lawsuits. 

Previously, the verdict were scheduled to be read from March 30 to April 5. The cases that could be proceed further will be in trial started from April 6 to Mei 2.
