REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI) ustaz Bachtiar Nasir was ready to prove that he had no relation with the foundation which collected funds for Aksi Bela Islam II and III. It was said by the legal advisor of GNPF MUI, Kapitra Ampera.

"He was not the founder, advisor, and supervisor. And he was not involved in the structure of foundation," said Kapitra in the office the National Police Crime Unit, in the Ministry of Marine and Fisheries Office, Central Jakarta on Wednesday.

Kapitra said, previously he did not understand the summonses and the relation to money laundering in the foundation as the police did not included the name of the foundation in the letter. After meeting the investigator, he knew the foundation was Yayasan Keadilan untuk Semua (Justice for All Foundation).

The foundation, he said, was a place to accomodate funds for Aksi Bela Islam II and III. "Insya Allah, it could be answered by the board of GNPF MUI," said him.

Kapitra said Bachtiar did not served on the foundation. GNPF MUI would help him to explained it to the investigators and to show the legal deed. "Of course, there was a legal of the foundation," he said.

Talking about the police notification, he guessed the police alleged Bachtiar to be mentioned in the structure of the foundation. The legal advisors would help him to clarified it.

"Maybe the investigators thought he involved, we would prove that Bachtiar Nasir had no relation to the foundation," Kapitra said.

In addition, Kapitra remarked the police also did not mention the principal case nor the suspect. Therefore, he needed to confirm more details on the summons of ustaz Bachtiar.
