According to Mahfud, the attorney mention it was on 10:16am. He believed it meant the attorney had tapped the phone call. "It is a violation of law with imprisonment of 10 years," he reiterated in an interview at TVOne on Wednesday.
In Article 47 of Law ITE stated, breach of the wiretap carries a maximum penalty of 10 years and/or a fine of Rp800 million. "If the police did not investigate this. Well, it's not a right thing," Mahfud said.

Whether there was a phone conversation between former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Kiai Ma'ruf, Mahfud said it should be proved with investigation. "It is the task of the police to investigate it. If not proven, then that was a spread of false news," Mahfud remarked.
According to Mahfud, Ahok's attorney has threatened Kiai Ma'ruf with recorded evidence. He rated it as a very serious crime. "And, clearly, he threatened (Kiai Ma'ruf). But then he dodge it in a press conference," Mahfud said.
