REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Member of Advocacy Team of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Humphrey R. Djemat explained the alleged conversation between Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) with Chairman of Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) KH Ma'ruf Amin before the issuance of MUI's religious statement. The religious statement was issued in relation to Basuki Tjahaja Purnama's (Ahok) sayings about surah Al Maidah verse 51 and those who has conveyed the verse.

According to Humphrey, during the trial on Tuesday (January 31), he only said there was a communcation between the two leaders. He did not mention recording. "We have the evidence about the communication of SBY and Kiai Ma'ruf. We will give it to the judges, just wait," he said in a press conference in Aroma Sedap Restaurant, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Wednesday.

Humphrey asserted the National Police and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) did not involved. He claimed the evidence was given by the God. "This is a dangerous question. There is nothing to do with the others. It is from God. All of it is from God. Now, who is the most powerful? BIN, police or God? Of course, God, right? he said while laughing.

Humphrey was reluctant from giving details on the evidence. He did want to create polemics. "Therefore, we will show it first to the judges," he said.

During the eight session of the religious blasphemy trial, Ahok's lawyer grilled Kiai Ma'ruf. He accused Kiai Ma'ruf has received a phone call from SBY and made the religious statement based upon SBY's request. SBY's son, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono is running for governor as candidate number 1 in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. Meanwhile, Ahok is trying to prolong his governorship.
