REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Metro Police conducted an examination of a man with the initials NF (20 years) who were arrested for carrying a national flag written with Arabic.
Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metro Police, Sr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said the police investigators have examined four witnesses to uncover the case of alleged insult to the national symbol. "We are still checking. We check the other witnesses, four witnesses were examined," Argo said when contacted by Republika.co.id on Saturday.
Among the four witnesses, there were also witnesses from the mass of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) who participated in the action demanded the dismissal of West Java police chief at the police headquarters on Monday (January 16).

A question arose after the arrest of the man. Would anyone who brings a painted national flag be convicted as a crime?
Argo Yuwono said that it would depend on the expert witnesses. "We will see whether it was a flag. It will necessarily examined by the expert witnesses. If it's only a red and white fabric, for instance, can it be called as a flag, let the expert witnesses declared," said him.
Previously, a photo of the Police Chief General Tito Karnavian who wore graffitied red and white headbands spread in social media. Again, Argo said that the conviction would depend on the expert witness testimony.
As information, the police have arrested a man initialized as NF who participated in the action held by the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) at the police headquarters on Monday (January 16). He were arrested in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Thursday night (January 19).
