REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Chairman of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) KH Sobri Lubis has received information on attempts to assassinate Habib Rizieq Syihab. He revealed there were many parties who tried to assassinate Habib Rizieq. Therefore, FPI is in high alert in safeguarding the high priest of the organization.

Sobri announced the information during a sermon at the Pusdai Mosque, Bandung City, West Java on Monday (12/12). The sermon was part of the national movement of congregational dawn prayer, also called 12.12 action. It was held as an effor to preserve the spirit of December 2's brotherhood initialed by the National Movement to Guard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI).

According to Sobri, Habib Rizieq was targeted because the respective mentioned as figure who resurrects the movement of Muslims. He was really highlighted as the advisor of GNPF MUI.

Previously, Habib Rizieq was sheduled to give a sermon at the 12.12 action in the Pusdai Mosque together with Chairman of GNPF Ustaz Bachtiar Nasir and leader of Daarut Tauhid Aa Gym. He could not come to the action due to ill. "Habib Rizieq was hospitalized for five days and now he is at home, but still has fever," Sobri said.
