REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Police chief spokesman Ins.Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said Buni Yani is potential to become a suspect. Buni was the man who spread a video clip of Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama's (Ahok) statement, which was allegedly insulting the Koran

Boy Rafli said Buni Yani had uploaded the video statement of Ahok and it went viral through his Facebook, fanning Muslims' anger against the non active governor.

Buni was reported to police by volunteers supporting Ahok. They accused Buni of deliberately edited the video statement of Ahok about a Koran verse that the statement was seen as a blasphemy.

Buni admitted to have made a mistake in the transcript of Ahok's video statement. Ahok himself has apologized to the Indonesian Muslims for his statement but said he had no intention of insulating Islam or the Koran. Police are investigating the charges against Ahok as well as against Buni.
