REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SLEMAN -- Yogyakarta police have formed a special team to investigate explosion incident in front of Liquid nightclub, bar and kitchen on Wednesday (10/26) night. The team comprised of personnel Investigation, Intel, Police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob), and Special Detachment (Densus). "We have formed a special team to investigate the case," said Yogyakarta police's General Crimes Directorate, Commissioner Frans Tjahyono at the Yogyakarta police headquarters, Thursday (10/27).
Police were still investigating whether the explosion was related to the act terrorism. Yogyakarta police promised to immediately reveal the background of the incident. "Police officers are still pursuing the perpetrator," Frans said.
The blast, which occurred on Wednesday at 08:30 pm came from a motorcycle that was parked in the northern of the Liquid bar and nightclub, Jl Magelang. The motorcycle had been parked since 05:00 pm.
At the scene, police found found six bottles of fuel, iron plate, as well as cable. near the motorcycle. Frans assumed, the perpetrator use the remote and blew up the Liquid nightclub.
The motorcycle rider allegedly was a man. He wore a helmet with the face covered, and wore the coat. Police also has examined CCTV recording. "All the scientific data and forensics have been processed," said Frans.
The explosion caused a fire that partially burned the motor body. Employees of the cafe immediately extinguished the fire. It did not cause casualties.
