After several accidents, minister to evaluate all flight schools

A training aircraft Piper PA 28 crashed in paddy field at Karangnunggal, Tasikmalaya, West Java on Thursday (8/19). On Wednesday (10/19), another training aircraft had emergency landing in paddy field at Central Java.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi will evaluate all flight schools after the aircraft accident in recent years. "I have given instructions to the Director General of Civil Aviation to immediately conduct an evaluation," Budi said in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (10/20).

Previously, on Wednesday at 08:30 am, a training aircraft belong to Perkasa Flight School has crashed at the paddy fields in the Cilacap, Central Java. The aircraft carried two passengers, a flight instructor and a student.

Both victims suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the hospital. The Ministry of Transportation handed over the incident to the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) to conduct an investigation.
