REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- The Chairman of Indonesia Ulema Council (MUI) Lukmanul Hakim said Indonesia's halal-certified products are excellent. Halal-certified products can also compete with any non-certified products which are sold only because they are attractively packed.
"Our halal-certified products have many superior aspects that can be promoted," Lukmanul Hakim said at the launch of Sharia Business Incubation Center (PINBAS) and Halal League here on Friday.
Lukmanul added that the micro, small, medium enterprises' products always stress quality and have an appealing packaging. These products can be more valuable if these are certified by halal standards.
Lukmanul explained that the Sharia Business Incubation Center helps domestic businesses build a system to produce halal products as well as penetrate and dominate Indonesia, ASEAN and world markets. The center facilitates so that potential buyers can access the halal-certified products from around the world.
"We are cooperating with several countries to open opportunities and markets for Indonesia's halal-certified products," Lukmanul added.
Data obtained from the local government showed that Indonesia has 1.5 million food industries that can compete in the international market. Meanwhile, 50 million small and medium enterprises are expected to develop into large industries.
