REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with several heads of state/government and business delegations on the sidelines of the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) here on Tuesday.
The meeting had originally been planned to take place in the Kakatua Room at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) but was later moved to the Presidential Palace.
Among the foreign dignitaries that will meet with President Joko Widodo are the deputy prime minister for economic affairs and the industry and trade minister of Jordan and the economic and trade minister of Qatar.
The president will also receive one of delegates to the 12th WIEF.
On Tuesday night, the president will attend a banquet held in honor of the delegates to the meeting at the Exhibition Hall B of the JCC.
"Welcome to Jakarta. We are pleased to host the 12th world Islamic economic forum after such a meeting was held in London in 2013, Dubai in 2014, and Kuala Lumpur in 2015," the president said in his introductory speech to the meeting.
On the occasion, the president also promoted Jakarta to delegates who were present at the meeting.
"Jakarta is a metropolitan city. During your stay here, please enjoy culinary, golf, spa, and world-class shopping centers. I hope that you would not object to me promoting Jakarta because I was Jakarta governor two years ago," he said.
