REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TAIPEI -- The Taiwanese government said it would not set limit for the number of Indonesia migrant workers in Taiwan.

"Now we set no limit. We would welcome as many as Indonesian government would like to send to us," Deputy Director of General of Labor Development of the Taiwanese Labor Ministry Tsai Meng Liang, told Antara here on Friday.

Tsai Meng Liang said the Taiwanese people are getting well along with Indonesia workers especially after Taiwan stopped recruitment of Vietnamese workers for frequent law offenses and breach of working contracts.

Now, however, Taiwan has allowed worker recruitment from Vietnam, he said.

He said there were 590,000 migrant workers in Taiwan and Indonesians are the largest number reaching 240,000 including 180,000 as housemaids.

Vietnamese are the second largest totaling 170,000 , followed by Philippine workers 130,000.
